Karen Mulholland on swimming for healing, showing up despite resistance…and tumble turns.

Season 1. Episode 5.

For all you open water lovers- this is the Anemone quilt !

Episode 5 of the Half Mermaid podcast takes us to Benalla where the stay with family for a few days presented the wonderful opportunity and gift of the conversation you are about to hear.

Karen is such a gorgeous human, and I am grateful she is not only family and a trusted friend, but also someone I have looked to as a role model, for her integrity and strength through difficult times and her persistence in paving her own way as an small business owner and entrepreneur.

We talk experience over perfection, about how swimming helped her body heal post cancer treatment, how place and time in water bond us with past generations, the meditative state swimming can induce, overcoming internal resistance, and her passion, quilting, which is now a blooming business. Karen’s quilts are a work of art and I think you will especially love the anemone one, shown above and below. You can find patterns for this and other gorgeous designs in the links below.

I hope you enjoy the conversation.
