Half Mermaid Journal Edition 16
Welcome to this edition of the fortnightly Half Mermaid Journal.
If you are new to the journal, a warm welcome!
Thank you for joining us and we hope our offerings serve you well!
Quotes we loved:
"Life is a wave, which in no two consecutive moments of its existence is composed of the same particles."
John Tyndall
“The scariest moment is always just before you start.”
Stephen King (on writing)

Journaling questions we are pondering:
When was the last time you protected space and time for yourself? How does this compare to the space, time and energy you offer others?
If there is a disparity, why is this so? Where does the resistance you feel when it comes to honouring yourself stem from?
This week’s blog post: What helps you keep consistent with your swim or dipping practice?
If overthinking is a silent assassin, comparison is the thief of joy.
What helps you and what detracts you from a consistent swim or dipping practice? It is amazing how much we share in our struggle.
Have a read and let me what you think :)
One new thing we learnt this week:
The first few juvenile Lions Manes have spotted in the last month in Port Philip Bay. Did you know the largest Lions Mane specimen measures at 36.576 meters making is longer than earth’s largest mammal the Blue Whale, whose longest known specimen is 33 meters? Thankfully they do not get that large in Southern Australian waters; although it is said climate change and the warming waters will be advantageous to them.

What we are listening to:
Myth busting episodes by The Coastal Swim cast. Terri and Allie go through a list of myths surrounding open water and pool swimming, in episodes 10 and 17 and tackle anything from how long one should be in the water, to after drop and whether the water turns green when you pee (!) . As usual it is a fun and educational conversation. You can find these episodes in the link here and on all major platforms.
On a final note!
We have just shared a link to our survey in a seperate email. We would so appreciate if you took 5-10 minutes to complete, to help us out.
Thank you for coming on the journey with us!
Till next time….
