Quotes we loved:

“The quality of your life is a direct reflection of the quality of the questions you are asking yourself”

Tony Robbins

"All life comes from the ocean, we are all connected back to the ocean, we all carry in our genes the memory of that conception of life in the ocean, and of billions of years of life in the ocean”

James Bradley in ABC’s podcast ‘Conversations’ titled ‘The strange origins of our immense oceans’

Journal update:

Last week I shared that the prototype of the journal is ready! We are considering a few more options this week, including printing it locally in Australia and best courier solutions to send it to you.

One new thing we learnt this week:

The largest movement of life on our planet happens every single day between dusk and dawn, in our oceans. Creatures and zooplankton living below 200m of depth rise to the upper layers to feed. Known as the Diel Vertical Migration, the movement is so significant it contributes to the mixing of ocean waters.

If you enjoy this kind of information, you will love the podcast below.

What we are listening to:

If you haven’t gathered already from the above, the ABC Conversations Podcast “The strange origins of our immense oceans’ interviews James Bradley.

A great conversation about, what sounds like, his fascinating new book titled Deep Water. The host Richard Fidler and James discuss theories on the creation of oceans both on earth and other planets, the evolution of life, how the ocean has shaped cultures, the human relationship to water, the indeed strange deep water creatures and the impact of the current climate emergency. I loved the conversation and am looking forward to reading the book.
